Since 2019, NK SEEDS has been offering free English classes to more than 400 students every year. This project was born from the encounter between Mélissa, a young French woman passionate about Asia, and Sabu, a local teacher who was voluntarily giving English lessons to disadvantaged children in his village. Recognizing the crucial importance of English for the future of young Laotians, the idea of creating evening classes emerged: one hour of English offered free of charge to each student, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This became the foundation of “NK English School” in the village of Nong Khiaw. After six years of additional classes, the project has grown and shown strong positive impact. Young beneficiaries now find it easier to secure employment, helping support their families. The results speak for themselves, as shown by the remarkable journeys of former students such as Lay, who became an English-speaking tour guide in Muang Ngoy, or Tee, who is now the manager of the English schools “by NK Seeds.”

In 2023, Lia Thor, a former teacher of "NK English School", returned to his village to realize his dream: teaching English to underprivileged children in Muang Xon. A graduate of the University of Luang Prabang, he is the epitome of educational success. With the support of his wife, Xisidapeth, also a former teacher of the initial project, they form a dynamic team to launch this new initiative. In just six months, this new school already welcomes more than 100 children aged 7 to 17, divided into four classes organized from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Each class lasts one hour, covering different skill levels, from beginner to intermediate.

In 2024, the expansion of NK SEEDS schools had a significant impact in Laos, generating a growing number of partnership requests from public institutions seeking to implement new English programs. A third school operated by NK SEEDS opened its doors in September 2024 on Don Khong Island, followed by a fourth on Don Daeng Island in the Champasak province. All our educational programs are officially approved by the Ministry of Education, ensuring high-quality classes and pedagogical standards aligned with national requirements.
