Water supply project
In northern Laos, our association is actively engaged in addressing the issue of access to water in remote villages. According to WHO and UNICEF data, approximately 60% of the rural population in Laos does not have access to improved drinking water sources. To address this worrying situation, our action consists of implementing water supply projects, including the construction of water reservoirs and the installation of filters to make the water 99% drinkable. These initiatives aim to provide reliable and secure access to drinking water, reduce the daily burden on local populations and significantly improve their quality of life. For example, each water reservoir built can have a capacity ranging from a few thousand liters, depending on the needs of the community served. On average, a medium-sized reservoir can supply around fifty families with drinking water, thus providing essential access to a vital resource. These water supply projects not only help meet a basic need, but also improve food security, hygiene and health for local populations, while reducing the risks associated with the daily search for water.
