Family Bakery restaurant in Luang Prabang

Welcome to the Family Bakery & Restaurant family! The restaurant was set up jointly by NK SEEDS and the family of Pinkeo, who became Mélissa's adopted family. When Mélissa arrived in Nong Khiaw in 2018, she was on her own, knew nobody and did not speak the local language. Moved by her dedication to the community, Pinkeo decided to support her and took her into her home, alongside her sisters and her daughters. At the time, Pinkeo owned a restaurant in Nong Khiaw called Family Bakery. Sadly, the Covid-19 pandemic and the hard economic times that followed forced Pinkeo's family to close it. In 2022, Mélissa returned to Laos to restart and broaden the work of NK SEEDS. Settling in Luang Prabang, Pinkeo's home town, she took the chance to open a restaurant together with her host family. And so, in October 2022, Family Bakery & Restaurant opened its doors!
