This spring, NK SEEDS is launching a major water supply project.

In the mountainous region of northern Laos, the isolated village of Sen Khran, along with a neighboring community, still lives without access to water.

Together, these two communities are home to around 400 people.

A difficult reality
On a daily basis, villagers must walk long distances to collect river water, which is often unsafe to drink and poses serious health risks.

Access to clean water will not only improve living conditions.
👉 The goal is also to develop coffee cultivation, allowing these communities to access a sustainable source of income.

The project
Our objective is to implement a complete and sustainable water supply system:

• Capturing a new water source
• Building suitable storage tanks
• Installing a distribution network between the two villages
• Setting up filtration systems in each reservoir

👉 The identified water source is located approximately 7 km away, in mountainous terrain.

A demanding project
The total cost of the project is €24,000.

This amount is due to several constraints:

• Long distance from the water source (7 km)
• Mountainous terrain with significant elevation differences
• Complex logistics
• The need to import materials (especially pipes) from Thailand

A lasting impact
This project will ensure permanent access to clean water, which is essential for:

• Health
• Dignity
• Economic development of the communities
