My Led Phan Library & School

Ma Led Phan Library is located in Nong Khiaw, approximately 4 hours north of Luang Prabang.

Ma Led Phan Library is a welcoming educational and cultural space, created to give children and young people in Nong Khiaw the opportunity to learn, practice English, and discover new perspectives.

Every weekday, from 4 PM to 6 PM, we offer:

  • English classes adapted to different ages and levels
  • English conversation and practice with our international volunteers
  • Reading clubs, educational games, debates, and creative activities
  • A welcoming space where young people can read, learn, interact, and meet new people

Through Ma Led Phan Library, our goal is to create an environment where young people can improve their English, build their confidence and curiosity, while learning in a fun and interactive way.

 
 
 
 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for volunteers to teach English in collaboration with our local teachers! We are seeking open-minded, responsible individuals who are eager to help and passionate about sharing knowledge and stories. We would love to learn about your culture and, in return, share the richness of Lao culture with you. Volunteer positions are available for those who wish to add meaning to their travels and dedicate at least 2 weeks to our organization. Volunteers teach 5 days a week, with approximately 2 hours of classes per day. During their stay, they will assist our local English teachers.

Conditions of admission :

  • Be over 18 years old
  • To have valid health insurance
  • Proficient in English at a B2 level - intermediate + (reading, writing, oral communication)
  • To be in a good health
  • Be available for a period of at least 2 weeks

Accomodation and food

 

Price: 70€ per week

Volunteers are warmly welcomed in a homestay with Mee and Vieng’s family.
The stay includes two meals per day — breakfast and dinner.

Length of stay:

  • Minimum: 2 weeks
  • Maximum: 4+ weeks (to be discussed)
  • Arrival date : Sunday
