How it works
What is Bol de riz?
For one lunch, the canteen replaces the usual menu with a very simple meal: a bowl of rice or pasta with a little tomato sauce, bread and a yogurt, for example. The school organizes the day with its catering service, and the money saved on the meal is donated to NK Seeds.
You choose the project you support, from three options: the free English schools, the vocational training in French for tourism, or the next medical mission.
A hands-on action: after the Bol de riz, the NK Seeds team shows its short film “Petits pas, grands rêves” (27 min) and talks with the pupils, by video call or in person depending on the distance.
The aim: fund a real project in Laos and show pupils, through a simple gesture, the lives of children and young people their age on the other side of the world. Each school raises between €500 and €2,500, depending on its number of pupils.

How it goes
The following year, the link continues: NK Seeds shares progress through a presentation, a video or a video call. The report sets your contribution apart from the programme’s results.
1. Choose
The school sets a date with its catering service and chooses the project it wants to support.
2. Act
On the day, everyone eats the Bol de riz. The money saved is donated to NK Seeds.
3. Meet
After the meal, NK Seeds shows the short film and talks with the pupils, by video call or at the school depending on the distance.
4. Follow
A thank-you with the amount you raised, then a report: what was funded, photos and news of the chosen project.

June 2027 · NK Seeds tour in France
Two Lao students on tour with us
In June 2027, NK Seeds will bring two Lao students from its French-for-tourism training in Luang Prabang on its tour of France. Depending on the tour route, they can meet your pupils in person or by video call to tell their story, present Laos and talk with them, in French.

Projects to support
Figures as of October 2026; for the training, budget summary of 1 October 2026.
Project 1 · Education
The free English schools
Since 2019, NK Seeds has run 3 free English schools taught by Lao teachers: Ma Led Phan Library in Nong Khiaw, My Dream English School in Muang Xon and Double Horizon English School on Don Daeng island.
Over 200 pupils a year
Your collection funds teachers’ pay, books and supplies, and educational outings.
Project 2 · Training
Vocational training in French for tourism
From September 2026 to August 2028 in Luang Prabang, 17 young Lao people from rural backgrounds are training to become guides, front-desk staff or travel agents.
€48,219 secured out of €168,379.64
Your collection helps fund the training: certifications, learning activities, textbooks, uniforms or the tuk-tuk.
Project 3 · Health
The February 2027 medical mission
Every year, NK Seeds runs two weeks of free care in a local hospital, with French and Lao volunteer health workers. Over 6,700 people have been treated since 2025.
Estimated budget: €20,000
Your collection funds patient transport, medicines and medical equipment.
What about access to water?
NK Seeds has already brought drinking water to several isolated villages, including Sen Khran. No new project is planned for the 2026-2027 school year, so water is not open for funding this year.
