2. Data we collect and why
We collect the data you send us yourself through the forms on the site: last name, first name, email and, depending on the form, your message, the amount of your donation, and details of a membership, a sponsorship or a volunteer application. If you sign up for our newsletter, your email address is collected too. This data is used to: answer your enquiries; process your donations, memberships and sponsorships; send you our newsletter and news about our work if you have agreed to that; and handle volunteer applications. It is kept for as long as those purposes require (for example the length of a member’s relationship with the association, or until you unsubscribe from the newsletter), and beyond that where a legal or accounting obligation requires it (e.g. donation receipts).
3. Sharing your data
Your data is never sold, rented or passed on to third parties for commercial purposes. It may be shared only with our technical providers, and only as far as their work requires: — the site’s host and publisher, What The Web; — our newsletter provider (Mailchimp), for people who have signed up; — our card payment provider, to process online donations and memberships. These providers are contractually bound to keep your data confidential.

The site may use cookies needed for it to work properly and, where applicable, anonymized analytics cookies. You can set your browser to refuse non-essential cookies; some features of the site may then be limited.
