HOW FAR WE HAVE COME

IT ALL STARTED HERE.

A meeting, a few children, a first class. Then, year after year, people, ideas and projects came along and made the story bigger.

THIS IS NOT A TIMELINE. IT IS A STORY.

We did not want to line up dates. We wanted to show how one meeting, one first class and a handful of people slowly opened other paths. Some stories begin. Others carry on. And year after year, NK Seeds becomes something else.

2018

The starting point

AT THE BEGINNING, THERE WAS ONLY AN IDEA.

In Nong Khiaw, Mélissa meets Sabou, who is already teaching English for free. Together they imagine one free hour after school. Nothing is written down yet. What there is, above all, is children who keep coming back to learn.

2019

A CLASSROOM BECOMES A STANDING DATE.

The classes find a rhythm. The children come back. What looked like a one-off idea starts to become something that lasts.

AND THEN THE WORLD STOPS.

The health crisis closes the borders and keeps the teams away. But in Laos the story does not disappear. The support carries on in Nong Khiaw and in the villages of the north, right through the Covid wave of 2021.

While everything slows down

WHILE SOME CAN NO LONGER COME, OTHERS KEEP SHOWING UP.

2022

THE DOORS OPEN AGAIN. WE COME BACK.

In June 2022, after the borders reopened, a team came back to Laos. The earlier projects started up again, the school found its rhythm, the volunteers returned. But something had changed: the association was also starting to organize itself to last on the ground.

THE ONE WHO TAUGHT BECOMES THE COORDINATOR.

An English teacher since 2019, Tee becomes coordinator and project manager in 2022. He supervises the volunteers and runs the solidarity missions in the villages. The same year, Lia, a former teacher at the school, opens a second free school with his wife Xisidapeth — My Dream English School — in his village of Muang Xon.

2024

FROM THE NORTH TO THE SOUTH OF LAOS.

The story is no longer tied to one place or to one way of helping. A third free school opens in Muang Khong, a school bus appears, the sponsorship program grows and new water projects take shape.

A NEW CHAPTER

WATER REACHES NEW VILLAGES.

Supply networks and filtration systems are installed in five villages. What began as a story about education now starts to touch living conditions, hygiene and health as well.

2025

CARING IN ANOTHER WAY.

In 2025 a fourth free school opens in Don Daeng. As NK Seeds moves forward, the needs it meets on the ground change too: health takes a new place in the story, with medical work that becomes a chapter of its own.

A NEW STEP

THE MEDICAL MISSION TAKES SHAPE.

This project should not be told as one more line in a list. It marks the moment when the association widened again what being useful means: listen to a need, bring people together and build an answer on the ground.

THE STORY CONTINUES

IT IS STILL ONLY THE BEGINNING.

Since 2018, every step has added a place, a face, an idea or a new way of acting. The road is already long. And still, what comes next is yet to be written.
