The school
Phou Jo English School is a free English school on Khong Island, the largest island in the Mekong, in the heart of the 4,000 Islands (Si Phan Don). The project was set up in partnership between NK Seeds and Josef and Vanthika, a retired French-Lao couple who chose to devote this new chapter of their lives to educating children in Laos. English classes are offered to local students five times a week, with around 60 students in 2 classes. They are taught by a local teacher, assisted by international volunteers. The program started on September 17, 2024.
